UPD 3 Обновление 8+ Дождёмся, узнаем...
UPD 2 Обновление 7+ Чёрный аукцион снова перенесён и уже в клоаку (Даларан Расколотых островов). Кап голды в сумке увеличили до 10 млн и уже не чекаю что по чём - на всё анриал цены. Видел выигрышный торг за 710к голд.
UPD 1 Обновление 6+ Чёрный Аукцион перенесён в Награнд (Дренор). Неудобно стало чекать, поэтому под конец аддона видел одни выигрышные торги за 430к.

This weapon has an on use effect that turns you into a guitar god.

You rock out for about 10 seconds turning into an undead as you do and a green exsplosion comes out from around you when you've finished laying out some epic tunes.

It's on a 1 minute cooldown too, so any and all down time in your instance runs or raids should be made into a jam session. :D

Tenris Mirkblood, who drops this axe, is a part of the Scourge Invasion event for Wrath of the Lich King. Once the event ends, which will probably be at the expansion's release, you will be unable to acquire this item.

Edit: Apparently Mirkblood will disappear before the expansion. He will probably disappear after the Nov 4 server maintenance.

Got this on my warrior just now. Positivly BEAUTIFUL. Hits fairly hard, good for an MS Warrior / Retadin / Hunter. Although for hunters, you can get near instantly better.

Has a Minute Cooldown for the hidden Use effect.

If you want to hear the sound effect just make a macro with

Just wanted to mention that the use effect can stack with some other appearance enhancing effects, hallows end candy for example, I managed to stack both ghost, enlarging and the use effect all together. Making you a big, floating, transparent, guitar-playing zombie! :D

compared to legacy (the kz uber hunter weapon), this one has;

+2 Stamina
+ 24 crit rating (1.09% @ L70).
+ 32 AP

- 40 agility
- 8 mp5

if you have the choice between these two axes like I did yesterday, Legacy is the 'better' choice.
however since wotlk is out soon and epic weapons of this level will be replaced as you reach L76 or so, I chose to pass on legacy and needed on the arcanite ripper because of it's old school look.

when choosing a memento, it's looks > stats :)

In order to play the guitar you must have it equipped, however after equipping the axe there is NO 30 sec cooldown as with most trinkets and other on use items.

It is certainly possible to 2-man this boss.

Warrior prot spec, wearing DPS accessories (trinket neck rings DPS) and 4 piece t6 set for shield slam dmg.

Shaman Resto spec full healing, t6+sunwell gear

Took us about 20 minutes, kiting him around and me (resto sham) with flametongue meleeing him-

Warrior put about 800~ dps, I was doing about 200 with shocks/melee when I could.

When the boss gets to 40%, he starts Blood Tapping, healing himself for around 17k quite often- it's just a matter of wearing him down 1% at a time.

The stats on the Arcanite Ripper are sub-par when compared to most purple-named weapons available at level 70, let alone comparing it to blue items mostly used by hunters prior to running kara. In the armory, I count no less than 112 suggested upgrades over this axe (Arcanite Ripper) for stats. Anyone who passes on this weapon is giving up the TRINKET-effect, not necessarily stats.

People who reason that this is a tank-only weapon are the same sort of jerks who would tell hunters (and other classes, prolly including Warlocks) that they shouldn't roll on the Horseman's Blade. The same deal applies: if the player can equip it, then why not roll on it? After all, we're on the cusp of obtaining far better weapons over these lvl 70 purples with ok stats, but uber-awesome trinket-effects. Not all weapons are Warrior/Pally "first dibs" items.

The days of hunters being the perceived loot ninjas have gotta be over, especially when considering how many Rogues have rolled on/been awarded Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury in the past few months, prior to patch 3.0 and all.

It might be tied with Halloween instead of Wrath, the two events coincided, so we'll see in a few months to which of the two it was connected. :)

The Arcanite Ripper is connected with the Scourge Invasion event, the boss that dropped it was also connected to this event, and after the event ended with Buring Crusade, the boss was removed.
The event was an opening for WOTLK so its very unlikely we will see this boss again, and chances to get this axe are slim to none.

Although this weapon is nothing more than a novelty item for most players (those who got it at 70 won't be raiding with it at 80), it still has its perks.

New players (the new ones who joined after the WotLK released) who never saw this weapon before, it's always funny to play this in Dalaran, SW or any other major city and have people whisper you asking "wtf was that?" To which I reply "wtf was what?" ;)

Would just like to add that in my characters statistics, under the achievement tab, it claims I have obtained 1 legendary item. I have never looted a legendary item to date - that is one with an orange name - but I have this axe in the bank. Does anybody else share this statistic?, as I think Blizzard has noted this weapon down as Legendary in-game.

For those of us who possess a 'Ripper AND also happen to have a Флейта Танцующего Пламени from Певчий Форрестен are in a unique position for optimal face melting. Assuming you have both items equipped, create a macro that contains:

/use Piccolo of the Flaming Fire
/use Arcanite Ripper

This will cause you to rock out and also cause all nearby players to dance, resulting in impromptu 10 second rock concerts. I find it works best in the auction house, as there are both a high concentration of players there as well as a "stage" you can perform on.

Don't forget to /bow after you've BLOWN EVERYONE'S MIND.

I still have this & still remember running all over Classic zones looking for the Plague Spreader attacks, gathering 'runes' to get non-drop Epic Armour pieces (Благословенное снаряжение истребителя нежити, for this DPS Warrior) & Гербовая накидка Серебряного Рассвета (Feat of Strength achievement since)...

The Event this item (and the other items mentioned here) was available from was the equivalent to Wrath of the Lich King of the Elementals running riot in Stormwind/Orgrimmar before Cataclysm released.

Tenris was an Event-only Boss added to Karazhan, iirc... he also dropped Детеныш нетопыря (Feat of Strength achievement, too).

This thing needs to be an heirloom like YESTERDAY! The achievement is going account wide anyways, so get on it devs :)

Ideally it would be level 61 required similar in style to the fun archeology heirlooms since we already have a self-leveling 2h axe.

i hate to say it, but im not too happy to see this.
its an awesome weapon i know, but it looses its value if everyone can have it now.

This is like how it goes with raid items, ppl work hard for it and than all that work and feeling of achivement, braging rights, disapear, as the items they get, are now availeble for everyoen in the end of the expansion, sepoes thats ok, but now we are going back years, and years..
befor you know it, old naxx items will be availeble for everyone, even after that raid was very elite and very hard.

All im saying is, it feels like a big middle finger at old loyal members that payed alot already to blizzard over the years, and have nothing to show for it soon, at least they could give us an achivement.. like they did when they killd our vanilla pvp ranks, in Feats of Strength.. would be something at least..

I made a list of gimmick items which you can use to transform your character into a different form or race or even gender to play around with. I didn't add items like weapons that provide a procc with a transform effect that only lasts a few seconds even though I know about them. My intention was to list all items with controlable transformations. Feel free to let me know if I missed an item!

To anyone wondering if the Arcanite Ripper is worth the 70k from BMAH.. IT IS!

I was skeptical at first but with only a 1min CD (really only 50sec) it feels like it is always ready to melt faces. Not to mention people have no choice but to hear you ripping it whether or not they have music enabled. Worth every penny.

I wouldn't mind paying 70k for this but to only constantly have to swap it from equip is a pain in the ass =/

As someone who won it back in the day from Kara, on a hunter....I am pissed off that I cannot use it for even transmog anymore.
Contacted blizzard, the gm said "At least you can still melt faces"
So I suppose that is supposed to make up for it...

Interestingly, when you mouse over this item when it is up for auction at BMAH, it says the source is Karazhan trash mobs. Have they added this to the drop tables for trash in Kara? Can anyone confirm?

Wondering if this is obtainable again through the original means, there is a Timewalking BC checkbox under the tooltip. Any mention of timewalking raids? I was lucky enough to obtain this when the event was live, as well as the batling pet! Would be good if people had another chance without having to wait for it to show up on a BMAH.

I just won this from the BMAH... Accidentally bought it on my Rogue and now I have a fancy new paperweight.

(A word of advice, GM's won't get involved in any BMAH purchase. Their supervisors tell them it's a hands off sort of thing)

Just got this tonight, tested it out for a few things since I did not see anyone talking about the limits of using it, just about how cool it is. I assume the other 2 guitar weapons act the same way.

Has no equip CD
Can be used in combat, but doing or taking damage will remove the buff such as auto attacking.
Can be used while moving but just dose the sound, and the green felfire then puts it on CD.
~~Can not be used in pvp instances because gear is turned off in those (QQ)~~

This is now mandatory when fighting KJ while he is in the air as there really is nothing else to do during that time.
