Earth Shock is a spell that has a huge amount of burst damage and chained with a Stormstrike debuff and or the proper elemental combat additions it can hit for 2000 plus.

Curiosity question; does anyone else remember (early on in game history) when ALL Shaman shocks created a large amount of threat? I remember when I was first starting there was a select few shamen who could actually TANK when they were enchantment spec, due to the fact that the shocks created so much threat.

i think this is the spell with the best mana-damage raport cuz for me at lvl 77 with 2 points in convection ,elemental focus and shamanistic focus her cost is only 35 MANA!:D:D:D:D

If you miss the old interrupt effect of earth shock you can use this simple macro to use earth shock and wind shear simultaneously for the desired effect.

/cast Earth Shock(Rank 10)
/cast Wind Shear

Don't doubt its awesomeness, I have tested it and it works wonders... now imagine the full scale Fulmination release added to this... (hint: enemy caster is dead)

Downside: Wind Shear can only be cast at 25 yards instead of max distance like Earth Shock

This is actually a spell you should be casting while healing if another class is already not supplying the debuff. Just make sure to assist the tank.

Lightning Shield can be considered as the new resources for Elemental Shaman, one can have 7 charge max, but as the original charge will never be consumed, so it actually means on can have 6 surplus Lightning Shield charge max.
it generate by (spell triggered by Mastery: Elemental Overload function same):

Lightning Bolt (has a 60% chance to generate 1 Lightning Shield charge (Rolling Thunder (Shaman T14 Elemental 4P Bonus double this effect)))
Chain Lightning (each jumps has a 60% chance to generate 1 Lightning Shield charge; Lava Beam (switch by Elemental Shaman turn into Fire ascendant) function same (Rolling Thunder (Shaman T14 Elemental 4P Bonus double this effect)))
Improved Lightning Shield

and when Shaman have surplus Lightning Shield charge, this spell can be cast to consume all surplus Lightning Shield charge:

Earth Shock (deal additional damage of all consumed surplus Lightning Shield charge (Fulmination); debuff target with Weakened Blows)

i love this spell but once oyu learn frost shock use that cuz it actually does more damage and then u get a nother rank for earthshock which is better then at 34 u get frost shock 2 which is better

I play a pally and a shammy, they are pretty equil. Shammy = totems pallies = shield and pallys CAN NOT BUBLE HEARTH UNTIL IN THERE 40s people who do bubble hearth i think are just noobs. paladins suck at tanking and same with shaman sure paladins have rightous fury, shaman have rockbiter THEY BOTH INCREASE THREAT thats it niether have taunts like the warrior. people hate paladins because they are meant for defense and survivability they cant do damage shaman can do alot of damage but have less armor so really Shaman are offensive and paladins defensive I have beaten paladins and shamans, its all about equipment and how good you are now i dont have time to sit here and argue, hope this post settles it....

Pallys are not overpowered and neither are shamans. They are both equally balanced classes as are all the others. Pallys that complain about frost shock are noobs, you have both BoF and cleanse for a reason. Shamans complaining about pallys bubbling and healing can just transform into ghost wolf form, run away, and then heal, returning to combat later. True, there is no way to stop a pally from bubble-hearthing, but so what? You lose one HK every hour? There isn't even a reason to be complaining about pallys as tanks. Only noob pallys try to tank in anything more than SM. Both shamans and pallys can do quite a bit of damage, regardless of what people say about pallys being strictly defense and survivability. Even when I'm wearing my healing gear which is just a bunch of +healing, I can crit for 1200 with The Unstoppable Force, which really isn't that good of a weapon and my judgements can crit for 700, over 1000 on a stunned target using judgement of command. Shamans are more of a caster type than paladins, so they hit harder with their spells and they have a longer range too. I've never seen a shammy melee me for more than a 600 damage crit. So, really, neither class should be complaining about the other being overpowered.

I wouldn't be surprised if indeed they wouldn't get a nerf because blizzard employees play them the whole time.

Paladins on the contrary are just fine. Their shield is a valuable thing, though you should be able to stun them or daze them when they use shield. And Hammer's stun is ok, I mean we don't start whining about concussion blow from a defensive warrior.. Though 6 seconds is alot... Magically I've defeaten a lvl 60 healadin being a lvl 53 hunter. Though I must say I used a Major Healing Potion (1000-1700)... But then again he used everything he had, including the Hammer and Shield. Most people will call me noob for using a pot, think of it as if it were a trinket.

For Shammys, I dunno they will friggen purge anything you have and just wait for windfury to proc. I have to say elemental shammys make an interesting fight, though they wear mail and shields, they don't have magic shields.. Frost Shock is hella annoying though, but it's more annoying when the Enhancement Shammy will jump on ya that way...

Question it.. Earth Shock though is just fine. Awesome skill, fair skill.

Whats the deal Pallys and Shamans BOTH use shields so you all think that pally shields, shamans totoms THEY CAN BOTH USE SHIELDS! they can both heal but the pally has better deffence and better healing and better armor BUT the shaman can go faster use awsome totoms still heal some still has some deffence and they are very awsome

All of u are tards. Shamans at this time of posting 5/26/07 are underbalanced. Enhance is a joke in pvp. durrrrrr i can kill a mage and paladin. guess what thats it. make a char b4 u complaign. durrrrr frost shock is cheap durrrr. no its not. its on a diminishing return which is after the initial slow effect the second slows for 4 sec and the third for 2 sec. anyone on a epic mount who gets hit with one of these can simply keep on running because u will still go slightly faster then the shaman who watches in disgust because he has no way of keeping u from running. Elemental does not do nearly as much dmg as the real casters in the game ppl just think zomg its cheap when they use elemental mastery chain lightning. Enhance cannot keep anything within their grasp due to a fs being on cd with a diminishing return and they have no way to increase their speed or stun or incapacitate or immobilize. which EVERY other class has at least one of these nifty features. Earth bind totem is a joke. Alliance shaman popped one on me and i ran up to it and wacked it b4 it procced. Go ahead and complain some more cause i can easily make any reply on how other classes have better ablilities. We win against paladins, mages. nothing else.

paladins and shamans are balanced, the shaman is a caster type and paladin is a melee with a little caster, windfury is like seal of command plus all the melee pallies do by the time it procs, they are both equally good at healing
execpt pallys dont die as fast..
and for those who whine when pallies heal during duels, shut up
I fought a hunter who whined like a baby cuz i healed... taking away healing classes healing during a duel is like taking away a hunter pet
WE are not warriors we dont do mega damage!

very very handy for spellcasters you are going to love this. it's instant and prevents spells from being cast until it's ready to be used again. (just barely) very handy attack.

Whats so awsome about Earth Shock Rank 1 is that its Mana Cost is substantially lower than the higher ranks; yet it still does the same job. I use this all the time to conserve mana in bgs.

All of the Earth Shock spells are great and should be used as soon as possible against NPC casters. Esp at lower levels that will put the NPC into melee attack and they will rarely revert to using their magic. This essentially makes them a much lower lvl MOB. PCs will, of course, begin to cast again :-))

Always keep a low rank ES for mana effecientcy. If you're running low on mana and need to interupt that mage's pyroblast, you can do so without draining yourself. =)

When, and why was earth shock changed to no longer disrupt spell casting?

I was expecting Wrath to be Wrath, not some sort of alternate timeline.
