Can anyone confirm if this can be cast on yourself? The tooltip is a little vague, seeing as technically you are friendly and can target yourself.

I hope that as a tank you don't talent this because it collects your allies too... I personally as a DK tank would hate to have a group wipe b/c I interrupted my healers spell cast b/c i death gripped them to me. Winter is much more useful situationally not to mention it has a shorter cd.

edit: not to mention i have never seen a healer that liked to stand on the tank where all the fighting was done...

Remorseless Winter has the same 1 min cool down as Gorefiend's Grasp and it does not 'collect' allies. Stop posting incorrect information and your subjective thoughts.

When you are inside a smoke bomb, you can still grip in your enemies, but you cannot cast it on enemies outside of the smokebomb.

Love using this in 5 mans, here's the macro I use to grasp them to myself, without needing to switch targets:

This spell is useful on Heroic Feng The Accursed encounter for Spirit of the Shield phase for pulling the "souls" away from the shield as well as for gathering them together in case your raid failed to stack for efficient aoeing.

I think this spell is best for a tank because its an alternative to Death Grip, its better than Desecrated Ground

Seems this was hotfixed today. No longer works on the Alementals in Stormstout Brewery. Which makes me sad. That second group before the boss was so fun while it lasted.

I have seen this spell used perfectly in a combo by an RBG team. Their DK ran into the enemy team's group, popped this to pull almost the whole team on top of him while a balance druid used Solar Beam and Ursol's Vortex and a mage PoM Ring of Frost around everyone, resulting in them being silenced, frozen and unable to run away. Good team play? I think so.

EoTs have your friend jump off a cliff, use this on them, then have a priest lifegrip them.

I had an idea about this spell--could an unholy dk "move" his goul minion somewhere, and then cast Gorefiend's Grasp on the goul to pull the targets away from him?

Might be useful for PvP if you want to get away from a nasty rogue or other bursting class--I'm sure it would interrupt rotations if it works.

As of 5.3 this spell can no longer affect more than 4 players at a time.

Mostly used to gather mobs to destroy them, but can be a powerful defensive tool as well. Target a mob/player a bit behind the throng you're getting pummeled by, use this and buy yourself breathing room similar to knocking the monsters away with spells like Typhoon/Thunderstorm. Best combined with an AoE snare.
