Providing latest update, can be found in The Jade Forest, Valley of the Four Winds, Krasarang Wilds, Kun-Lai Summit, Townlong Steppes, Dreaded Wastes, and Vale of Eternal Blossoms. In short, all Pandarian 85+ zones. This is the most common herb in Pandaria.

25% chance of Misty Pigment

When I compare this data with data of others...it seems like the chance of getting Misty Pigment is about 20-25%, and you get about 2 and half Shadow Pigments each mill.

I'm sure the reason this is so prevalent is that for alchemy, you learn new recipes from doing one of 2 potions which need green tea leaf to make...so its the fastest way to spread your skill is by mass producing these potions

Farmed a green tea node today (11/29/12) and got 3 green tea from it and 1 golden lotus. I have never seen a golden lotus drop from another plant's node before. Perhaps a change included in 5.1? This also occurred today with a silkweed node. This does not however give you the Luck of the Lotus buff when gathered this way.

As everyone mentioned, this herb is everywhere, but if you're 90 and have Wisdom of the Four Winds (that is, you learned flying in Pandaria), my favorite spot to farm these is the Skyrange in Valley of the Four Winds. Most of the area is inhabited by neutral mobs -- mushan and goats -- with a hozen every now and then. Since it's a narrow ridge up in the mountains -- a small area to pick herbs from -- they're not very spread out. Respawn times are quick. I can go from one end to the other and on my way back, more will have spawned.

Towards the northern part, there is a hozen village. I hate having to deal with mobs while I'm farming, but I can avoid the hozen most of the time. Even some of the nodes that are really close to mobs I can pick just by inching up to the herb from the side furthest away from the hozen and waiting for the grayed out herb cursor to indicate I can pick the herb. I'm farming herbs on a hunter, so if I pull aggro, I just use feign death, shadowmeld, or camouflage (I have the glyph that also provides stealth while moving).

Note that this is an area where players are doing dailies for the Tillers in Halfhill. I farm there at least a couple times a day, daily, and I have never gotten ganked while doing my daily quests or farming. It's not usually busy up there -- the most people I've seen there at a time are maybe 4 or 5 (usually it's more like 2-3) and people quest or farm without being bothered. That's just in my experience, though. It might be something to keep in mind if people are gank-happy on your server. It's pretty dead in the middle of the night if you're a night owl like me.

This is the most convenient and efficient spot I've found so far, mostly because I could farm rep for the farmers in Halfhill by doing the dailies while I farmed herbs. When I got bored of that, I would fly down to the Heartland and farm Dark Soil for more rep. I'm best friends with them all now, so I don't need to quest here anymore, but I haven't explored all of Pandaria yet. For now, this is still my favorite spot. If anyone has any better areas, feel free to drop a comment.

Right before posting this, I farmed for about 20 minutes and got 6 stacks and didn't run into any other players. On several occasions, I have spotted Golden Lotus up here (and quite a few times have seen two of them spawn near each other. One time of those times, a damn druid swooped in and picked them both as I was trying to drop aggro from a hozen). I also get some from picking the green tea, but of course, there's no Luck of the Lotus. If I do pick a Golden Lotus and get it, I'll start killing stuff to get some extra loot from Plundered Treasure.

Edit: Now that we're in 5.4, I just wanted to post an update about the quickest way I farm herbs and inks for my scribe.

Up until an hour ago, I was only using Forager's Gloves and Mist-Piercing Goggles; the gloves did far more than the goggles (up in the Skyrange, there doesn't seem to be any hidden nodes) to increase efficiency in farming herbs. An hour ago was when I finally crafted and learned my Sky Golem, which allows you to pick herbs without dismounting. Now my hunter farms herbs just like a tauren druid (racial passive to pick herbs faster + ability to pick herbs while in flight form).

I believe I currently have everything I can own to farm herbs at maximum efficiency. In short, when I go farming the Skyrange, I have my Forager's Gloves, Mist-Piercing Goggles, Sky Golem, Hyjal Expedition Bag, and auto loot turned on to minimize unnecessary clicking. I said "everything I can own" instead of "everything needed" because unfortunately, my guild isn't high enough for the guild perk Bountiful Bags, but having just farmed about 250 herbs in about 15 minutes (YMMV), I won't complain.

If you need a specific herb for alchemy or just wanted to farm low level herbs to sell, the Sky Golem is still very awesome for non-druids. However, as a scribe, you don't need specific herbs, so I just farm the green tea leaf in the Skyrange. Since I farm the fastest in Pandaria (the goggles and gloves obviously won't work in the previous expansions), I don't plan on farming the low level herbs anymore; I'll just trade Ink of Dreams for the low level inks at the ink trader (while I could've done this before I had my new mount, I would sometimes go farm low level herbs for their respective inks because as a lvl 90, you rarely aggro any mobs, so farming was less annoying).

I just spent 45 minutes farming these SOLELY in the Skyrange area of the Valley of the Four Winds. I stayed away from the Hunzen main camps and dotted around the outskirts of the ritual place and further south - you are never waiting around for any to spawn, they respawn in a couple of minutes so you're always gathering.

In the 45 minutes I gathered 400 x Green Tea Leaf and 15 x Golden Lotus. This in turn milled into 202 Shadow Pigment (101 Ink of Dreams) and 24 Misty Pigment (12 Starlight Ink).

Not a bad haul at all for 45 minutes, i'd highly recommend this place for your herbing and milling needs.

Ghost Iron Nugget Received by miners who are under skill lvl 525. When over skill 525 you will receive the normal Ghost Iron Ore.

The same can be applied to herbalism. Those who are under skill lvl 525 will get the following items -->

Silkweed Stem x10 ---> Silkweed x1
Torn Green Tea Leaf x10 ---> Green Tea Leaf x1
Rain Poppy Petal x10 ---> Rain Poppy x1
Snow Lily Petal x10 ---> Snow Lily x1
Fool's Cap Spores x10 ---> Fool's Cap x1

As others have warned, if you start gathering all the green tea you see on your mini-map tracker, you will have full bags and banks within the hour. - You are been warned!

So for anybody wondering where they can find these, or if you'll be able to get enough, seriously don't even worry.

The best place to farm these is the Kunzen Village in Valley of the Four Winds. 10 Minutes should easily grab you over 100. If you're a 90 Druid, you can stay in flight form, and not have to worry about encounters.

The first route from this link is a great place to farm Green Tea Leaf when no one else is farming in this area, as the page says. I got 85 Green Tea Leaf in just a couple of minutes. There are also a few areas along this route where 3 or 4 Green Tea Leaf will spawn right next to each other. Good luck farming! :)

Quite a lot of these in a small area in Paoquan Hollow, Valley of the Four Winds.
It's the north area, west on the map at 18,31 ish.

Had to give up and just leave or I would end up just picking herbs instead of leveling.
